A 15-hour workshop taking an in-depth look into the red flags, predictor variables of violence and homicide, characteristics of victims and perpetrators, cycle of violence, obstacles in breaking away from the relationship, safety planning, treatment considerations, assessment, and planning, and legal/ethical issues. Intimate-partner homicide is the most predicable homicide impacting men and women equally.   

Trauma

Psychological, biological, and physical implications of trauma and PTSD. A look into trauma from start to finish with treatment outcomes and considerations. Differences based on age, gender, historical background, past experiences with trauma and cultural background are given special consideration and attention.   
 

Posttraumatic Growth

Looking past the “disease model” of human functioning to the resilience and hardiness inherent in each person surviving trauma and its aftermath. Special attention paid to how we can restore and cultivate growth beyond trauma.   
 

Treatment Planning

A 15-hour training that helps to develop the skills needed for the identification, diagnosis, and development of a treatment plan that is based in easily identifiable and workable goals. Special attention is placed on diversity issues and having a flexible conceptualization of an individual.
